La idea original de esta exposición, su desarrollo y dirección, así como el proyecto general CAFÉ corresponden a la comisaria Cristina García-Lasuén, fundadora y CEO de OTE. El comisariado técnico, dirección espacial y diseño corresponden a Daniel Fraile Ortiz, COO de OTE, y al equipo de la Escuela de Arquitectura. El comisariado adjunto lo forman Catalina de Vicente de la Vega, Lucía Aguirre Vaquero, Nuria Gómez Cerrolaza y Sarah Serrano Pino.

Eventos
CAFÉ es un proyecto artístico que, dependiendo de las posibilidades existentes, desarrolla y se enriquece con eventos culturales expositivo-educativos relacionados con la "cultura abierta a todos" - “open culture”, de carácter no económico. Dentro del proyecto CAFÉ está abierta la posibilidad de organizar diferentes eventos paralelos a la exposición. Estos actos reforzarían la transmisión de conocimientos entre los ámbitos universitarios y expertos de diferentes países mediante debates, entrevistas, encuentros, mesas redondas, etc., que permitan la participación de especialistas e interesados. Para enriquecer la propuesta, al inicio de cada sesión se expondrían algunas de las obras cinematográficas de animación de mayor trascendencia.
El proyecto expositivo: “En un lugar de la memoria", forma parte del proyecto general CAFÉ -corresponde a las siglas de Cine+Animación+Ficción+Exposición- de Open This End, que muestra el arte más actual por medio de artistas de referencia internacional que utilizan nuevos medios y animación. El proyecto general CAFE está estructurado en forma de muestra múltiple componiendo un pentáptico, de 5 exposiciones independientes con el factor común de ser distintas manifestaciones de animación, es decir, imagen en movimiento. Siguiendo nuestro objetivo cultural y educativo sin ánimo de lucro, proponemos con CAFÉ exposiciones que muestren la mejor animación actual internacional en sus 5 manifestaciones para acercar la animación a los profesionales, expertos y al público general.

Commission
The original idea of this exhibit, its development and direction, as well as the general CAFÉ project are the responsibility of the commissioner Cristina García-Lasuén, founder and CEO of OTE. The technical commission, spatial direction and design are the responsibility of Daniel Fraile Ortiz, COO of OTE, and of the team at the School of Architecture. The adjunct commission is represented by Catalina de Vicente de la Vega, Lucía Aguirre Vaquero, Nuria Gómez Cerrolaza and Sarah Serrano Pino.

Events
CAFÉ is an artistic project that, depending on the existing possibilities, is developed with and enriched by cultural expositive-educational events related to “culture open to everyone” – “open culture,” not for economic gain. Within the CAFÉ project, there is the open possibility of organizing different events parallel to the exhibit. These acts would reinforce the transmission of knowledge among the university environment and experts from different countries through debates, interviews, meet-ups, round tables, etc., that allow for the participation of specialists and interested parties. To enrich the proposal, at the start of each session, some of the cinematographic works of animation of major importance would be exhibited.
The expositive project: “Somewhere in the memory” it is part of the overall project CAFÉ -corresponds to the acronym Cinema + Animation + Fiction + Exhibition-by Open This End, that shows the most current art from artists of international renown who utilize new media and animation. The general CAFÉ project is structured in the form of multiple animation displays, that is, image in movement. Following our not-for-profit cultural and educational objective, with CAFÉ we put forward exhibits that show the best current international animations in their 5 manifestations, to bring animation to professionals, experts, and the general public.

Proyecto de Animación Internacional “CAFÉ”
El proyecto general CAFÉ (Cine +Animación +Ficción +Exposiciones) promueve la animación internacional, en sus diferentes manifestaciones artísticas y creativas, con el fin de dar a conocer el arte actual, a los artistas, facilitar el acceso y estimular nuevas perspectivas relacionadas con las creaciones animadas.
En la actualidad, debido a sus múltiples posibilidades y a su versatilidad interdisciplinar, existe un renovado interés por la animación. Se percibe tanto en elementos que forman parte de la globalización cultural, como en los específicos de la sensibilidad y el carácter local. Los lenguajes de la “Glocalización”, se complementan y enriquecen con iconos de animación, arquetipos animados universales, y con las facilidades que aportan la creación con nuevas tecnologías y la conexión en red
Por otra parte, además de su trascendencia artística y comunicativa, también hay que considerar otras cuestiones que intervienen en el valor actual de la animación, como es su capitalización en áreas de Investigación, Innovación y Desarrollo. La utilización e importancia en I+D+I del sector de la animación es de gran dimensión por su elevada dedicación a la investigación y desarrollo de las nuevas tecnologías que le sitúa a la vanguardia de la creación, generando efectos spillovers en otras industrias y ciencias. La exposición de CAFÉ que se presenta se titula: “En un lugar de la memoria”.
CAFÉ es un proyecto general de Open This End (OTE); una organización cultural internacional, sin fines de lucro, formada por profesionales del arte, la cultura, las ciencias y la educación que investiga, desarrolla y exhibe contenidos generados con nuevas tecnologías. Siguiendo objetivos de “open culture”, acerca estos conocimientos a los profesionales, estudiantes y al público en general y, al tiempo, desarrolla nuevos medios de investigación que abren campos de interés e innovación en diferentes áreas y disciplinas.

Project of International Animation “CAFÉ”
The general project CAFÉ (Cinema +Animation +Fiction +Exhibits) promotes international animation, in its different artistic and creative manifestations, with the goal of getting to know current art, the artists, and facilitating access and stimulating new perspectives related to animated creations.
Currently, due to its multiple possibilities and its interdisciplinary versatility, there exists a renewed interest in animation. It is perceived in elements that form part of cultural globalization as well as in the specifics of feeling and local character. The languages of “Glocalization,” are complemented and enriched with animation icons, universal animated archetypes, and with the ease that contributes to creation with new technologies and network connection.
On the other hand, in addition to its artistic and communicative transcendence, we also must consider other questions that intervene in the current value of animation, like its capitalization in the areas of Research, Innovation, and Development. Its utilization and importance in the R + I + D sector of animation is of great dimension because of the elevated dedication to research and development of new technologies that place it at the forefront of creation, generating spillover effects in other industries and sciences. The CAFÉ exhibition that is presented is titled: “Somewhere in the memory”
CAFÉ is a general project by Open This End (OTE); an international cultural organization, that is not-for-profit, and is made up of art, culture, science and education professionals, which researches, develops, and exhibits content generated with new technologies. Following “open culture” objectives, this knowledge is brought to professionals, students, and the general public and, at the same time, develops new research methods that open fields of interest and innovation in different areas and disciplines.
